This fall, Special Strong is opening its doors in Lancaster County, bringing adaptive fitness programs to a community that has been asking for exactly this kind of space. For years, families across the county have driven long distances to find fitness training that actually meets their loved ones where they are - and starting this season, that drive gets a whole lot shorter.
Special Strong isn't a typical gym. It's a program built from the ground up around adaptive and inclusive fitness - for individuals with physical disabilities, intellectual and developmental disabilities, chronic illness, and anyone who's ever felt like traditional fitness spaces weren't designed with them in mind. Every trainer on our team is certified specifically in adaptive coaching, which means the workouts, the equipment, and the pace are all built around the person in front of them, not the other way around.
